Good interview with Gault with the American 10K women. They were 1 minute back, which is crazy. What can they do to make up the gap?
Their fear to die at the end of the race has been very limiting. The Americans immediately form a second pack and hope that everyone is going to die. I don't think that works in the double threshold and super shoe era. Not sure that ever worked, maybe for a random third place.
They need to latch on and see how long they can maintain contact. They need to learn the the tactics that are used at the front. They need to feel the pace. Then, try to adjust training and stay connected longer next time.
