I’m 20 years on and racing a half marathon in 6 weeks. I ran 4:19 in high school as a mid-D runner, but am pretty far removed from that shape. Last week I ran an 18:40 5k pretty much all out. How much fitness can I gain in the next few weeks?

Run 6, 70 mile weeks and you'd probably be close to 17:00 and 1:20 for half. I'd do a bunch of 15x300/400 reps with 30 second rest and a hard 10 miler every week.
