Hi LRC,
Given other sports have so much transparency into the financials of the athletes, and we have plenty of complaints about why our sport is not advancing, NIL would be one area that we could use some data. This is a hot topic across all sports. Additionally, it is revamping the NCAA landscape when you see New Mexico and some other schools bringing in athletes that could have pro contracts.
I am aware of the article regarding pro contracts from a few years ago, and have reviewed it.
Could Gault and the Brojos gather data and put together another article regarding NIL?
Additionally, it would be interesting to get insights and opinions from coaches on how this is changing relationships in regards to schools and athletes, as unlike football, the NIL isn't directly related to boosters from the school. So effectively athletes in T&F have the scholarship from the university, but likely more financial incentive from a shoe company.
The most interesting angle has been the introduction of athletes who have already been professional, but then are now in the NCAA.
