Hi guys, I need help. I am 16 years old about to turn 17 running highschool track and cross country as a junior. I have ran since freshman year, but this season will be my first attending every practice, having got summer mileage, and not smoking for the first time in my life(I used to smoke marij everyday past few years and am 3 months clean now longest ever)!! My PR as of last season was 23:30 while again barely going to practice and smoking. I didnt compete at my state race for I had a stress hip fracture. I am the top runner on my team. Currently, I m running a 7:40 mile pace through 8:30 mile pace at my slowest. I have been running every single day with one off day a week, resting good 8 hours and eating well. My first race is in 2 days and I plan on breaking the record of 22:20, I think I can do it. Im doing 30+ miles weeks right now. Im running 8 mile long runs on saturdays, doing hill workouts, fartlegs, and more. I think I am talented to place at state. the girl that won my division had a time of 18:27. PLEASE GIVE ANY TIPS AND OPINIONS if you think I can break sub 20 for a 5k by November 17th, it is September 4th right now. I am willing to do anything and work as hard as I can.
