I highly doubt he ran this. His best over 800m is 1:46 and now he is averaging 1:48 in a 1200m? Yeah right. OP is trolling, we all know Jakob is a slowpoke who can't kick. That's how he was outsprinted in last years Olympic Final.

I also think this was a troll thread, but it’s unfair to bring up his 800 pr because:
1. He hasn’t run the 800 in several years.
2. When he did it was either as part of a triple/quadruple, or against very subpar competition.
3. it’s clear that a guy who can run 3:26 (1:50.26 pace) could easily run faster than 1:46.
4. He trains more like a 5k runner than an 800-1500 guy. Meaning that he wouldn’t drop off as much from 800-1200 as many of his competitors.

They might be trolling, they might not. lot of pro's training right now at Chiavenna with their teams. OP could be telling the truth. He ran the 1:46 over 5 years ago, the same season he ran a 3:28.65 in the 1500m and 3:27.05 in the 3000m... we've seen him improve significantly in both those distances since then. we'll see his post injury speed and fitness soon enough
This is SHOCKING if true. Jakob has never been capable of running faster than 2:41.
This being heavily downvoted is a perfect illustration that even on a running board most of you are stupid, ignorant, and really know so little about the sport and mathematics that you embarrass yourselves without ostensibly even being aware of it.
I might add that the fastest 1200m split in a 1500m race in history was El Guerrouj in Rieti 2002. His 1200m split was 2:44.75, and finishing time was 3:26.96. So a final 300m of 42.21 (getting really tired/tied up obviously)
I found an article recently (unfortunately I can't find it now) that included some other splits. I think his final 400m of that race was 55.58 (so an 1100m split of 2:31.38). And the pacemakers went out in crazy pace. The pacer hit 800m in 1:49.14, El G hit 800m in 1:49.5 (IF I remember correctly)
I do wonder what prime El G could've done in an all out 1200m race (1000m race as well)

The OP is obviously lying or he would have provided a source. Just 2:45, would be very encouraging for the WC.
