Interestingly, the first 3 are really 800m runners.
There’s been a decently long history of aging 800m runners impressing after giving the 1500 a try (Giles, Krum, Lewandowski). Now guys are trying it younger with success, though 3:30-1 aren’t what they used to be. So the answer is Katir or even Nordas because usually 1500 runners who aren’t coming from the 800 are at least somewhat close to their peak level at age 22.

Add also Strand from 3:35.60 to 3:30.25 and last year Hocker from 3:30.70 to 3:27.65 Both in their main distance with super fast close(which means they could run faster)
It's more related to US runners, with a lot of competition in high school and NCAA
In Europe they don't push so hard when they are young, so they peak latter
Not so sure this is the case. Maybe for under-the-radar athletes like Pinto now training with Gjert, but many European athletes are professionalized earlier than American ones in fact.
