Why not? Looking at WA toplists, she was the #4 Australian and #3 is only doing the 1500 (Billings). Women's 1500 is first and then it's the 800 - her main event, where she should be a favorite for a minor medal, is first, and then the 800 is dessert - it won't affect the 1500 at all...
I’m surprised to see three of the Aussie distance ladies doubling. The other two need to check themselves, but kudos to Jess for trying… hoping it doesn’t backfire!
The 1500 comes first, whatever happens in the 800 will be a bonus. Similar to Kessler last year, she will not double if the 1500 is the 2nd event.
Womens 800 is definitely soft this year. Jess clearly thinks she can get another medal. Will she beat GHB?
I was surprised by this, but the 800m is a free hit as it's after the 1500.
1500 is on the 13th, 14th, 16th; and
800m is on the 18th, 19th, 21st.
An 800m semi would be a good result for Jess?
If she's added some more speed training to her build that can only help her in the 1500m. She'll be competing with a kicker like Hiltz for the medals.
Jess doesn't often get it wrong but the DL final last 100m wasn't great. 80% chance she medals in the 1500 and I'll give her 40% if she gets to the final.
Jess doesn't have any issues going with the pace so being in the same heat or semi as Keely will help her
I think it is a boss move and will fcck with GHB's head a little bit. Go for broke!
Hulls ran 1:58. Bells ran 1:55. Clueless if youre mentioning these 2 in the same sentence regarding an 800m. Hull will do well to make the final, she aint got the wheelssss
