Extended warm-up is what those first 3x 1k are. Just get everything extremely warm before the main 1500m predictor. Less chance of injury. 15 min is enough time to spike swap, get some water, bathroom, mentally prepare, etc.
Did these myself and with my teams over the years. Some people ran bang on in the race, while others couldn’t replicate it. I really think using 800, 1000, and also tempo miles before an effort like this makes the real session easier too. A lot of athletes don’t warm up hard enough but this ensures it.

Warming up with 3x1000 at something between threshold and 5K pace. Then full recovery before an all out 1000+500. You definitely don't want to be fatigued before the fast stuff or you'll end up running with poor form and getting hurt.
