I think that we THINK that we bring our best stuff when we are drunk, but that is becasue we are drunk...

Have you ever watched a video of a wedding reception after the fact? You remember everyone looking so good and dancing so well, but everyone looks like an idiot in the video, and things seem so much brighter than they did that night.

I think this applies here as well... Comedy takes timing, writing, and talent. Conan is good becasue, well, he has great writers, great timing, and talent.

Farley is a different story, he wasn't funny in the Conan-like way. He was fat and loud and broke things. Much different. If Conan was drunk, etc, he would probably forget his lines and screw his timing.

I have a few drunkard friends who dabble in the comedy underground of New York and DC. They never drink before their act, but down the stuff after their act ends...

I think that if Conan were on drugs it would have showed by now since he's had his show for 13ish years or so.

Right Right. There definately is a line you pass in getting drunk/being funny- in reference to the wedding party videos. If you get too drunk, you just go into a sloppy stupor of communication.

But I'm talking about the cocaine! Sometimes I'll get all wired up on coffee and I will be on point- mentally sharp as a tack and aware of many things on many levels. Its a good feeling. I've never done the coke before (or anything besides booze) but it just seems to me that alot of actors definately ride the train in preparation for an act.

The 13 years of clean driving by Conan bodes well for promoting his healthy habits. Although word is leaking out about a hotelroom wrecking night he had with the president of Finland. They are saying the room was left totaly destroyed and knee deep in shaved lettuce.

I actually thought last nights episodes was one of the worst I have seen from him in a while.His monologue jokes were terrible.

My favorite so far this year was when Jeff Goldblum was on the show, that one was insane.

Thinking like that is what creates alcoholics and other types of addict. You don't NEED drugs under any circumstances...

I can't believe three's people out three who don't realize their negative effects. I drink my share for sure, but never have I depended on it for any sort of amusment or happiness.

Associating alcohol and drugs with laughter and happiness is what will screw you over.

I totally met this dude from Aerosmith at a meeting once.

I guess they all go to them together when they're on tour. Crazy stories. Apparently if you're famous, people just give you drugs.

Conan should serious consider taking some drugs. Maybe they will make his humor funny.
