Beatrice Chebet 3000m WR attempt at Rabat

Came here looking to see if there was a thread on this. Winnie Nanyondo, Eleanor Fulton and Georgia Griffith (3:58/8:24 last year) are all enlisted as pacers. The weather looks practically perfect, forecast at low 70s and minimal wind at race time. If she’s in 3:50/14:00 shape, and it seems like she probably is, she’s got a shot.

Wish this were getting more attention: I always thought 8:06.11 was more out there than Komen’s 7:20. I mean, this is the all time list:

I don’t think it’s controversial to say those top 3 times are likely horse sh1t, but still, we’ve entered the era where 8:06 should be assailable, and there’s no doubt that the #3 mark all-time should be faster than 8:16. If she performs up to her recent standard, Chebet should break 8:10 today.

Is this a confirmed world record attempt?

I predict she will get to #2 on the list. 8:06 might be a bridge too far.
