so i see a school in the mid-atlantic is offering $32,500 for a head volleyball position. the only other duty listed is to run a summer camp.
just two years earlier, they were offering $30,000 for a head men's and women's xc, indoor, and outdoor position.
in addition to coaching 6 sports, they had to coordinate all the camps at this school.
i understand hoops and football contracts, but freakin' volleyball coaches making more than xc, indoor, and outdoor coaches?
Volleyball is actually a revenue-producing sport. I assume this mid-atlantic VB school has home matches in which they charge an entry fee. Does the XC/Track teams charge for any events to the degree VB does? Look at the business side of athletics for once.
Most college coaches who hold summer camps in their sports will use camp money to supplement their salary (and those of the assistants). So, if you are making 30k and running a couple camps in the summer, you can pad that 30k. Its not doctor or engineer money, but you know that going in.
