Nuguse isn’t going to want to pace these guys, not with his 1:44 now. Jakob certainly shouldn’t try that again, even a 3:27 didn’t run the kick out of them. Kerr or Hocker? Not a chance.

Well someone is gonna have to lead right?
I am not sure about Nuguse, but I can see 2 approaches to the final in Tokyo from Jakob, straight to the back by taking the lead around 800m before the finish, or straight to the front and leading from wire to wire. I vote for the second option. He has to show us that it is possible.

I'd like to say that if he does this and holds a solid clip up through 1300m, Jakob wins the sit and kick even against Hocker and Kerr who've historically out kicked him. If he benefits from the draft I'm sure his long drive and kick can be fast. It's going to be a 2020 Summer Olympics 1500m final repeat except Cheruiyot is replaced by Nuguse.
I dont think leading in that distance is ever a good idea. I recently ran in the US road mile champs in des moine Iowa. Went out in leading my heat in 62 (408 pace), ended up blowing up and running 425.
Jakob's only chance at winning a Championship 1500 again is to get fitter than everyone else and frontrun a 3:25. Otherwise, I don't see him ever winning again. 5000 - now, that's a different story.
He's never claimed to be Mormon or a Utah resident. He's Roman Catholic (or some native variant of catholicism that allows him to smoke peyote) and lives in Texas.
Also, you didn't see his name in the results because he wasn't in the elite heat. I'll admit even as a fan, Dahl is delusional in thinking he would run 4:15 and make the sub-elite heats next year. I think his result was the reality check he needed.

Um…probably the430miler under a different handle?
Let’s be clear: he did not run a 4:25 at the Grand Blue Mile. There are no “sub-elite heats.” The results for the competitive (open) division races are easily accessible:

The blue heat was the pro heat. The white heat was semi pro. The red heat was everyone else, 440+ folks. It does appear that he competed in the white heat, which is the appropriate division for him.

Again, probably just the430miler. This is just bullsh1t. I ran the damn race and am totally aware of the specs. There was no “blue heat,” “red heat,” “white heat.” If it “it does appear that he competed in the white heat,” results and photos could verify that, but he probably wasn’t even in Iowa that day.
This man is a dangerous psychopath, with his hateful campaign against Leachman and all the needless lying he does here, we might get a Netflix documentary of him soon
