When colleges recruit the top high schoolers it's basically like they're paying money to make their team better than other teams. This leads to an extremely unfair system where colleges with less money get worse athletes, making the fast colleges faster and the slow colleges slower. The top 100 or so athletes (open to debate on this number) from each high school class should just be assigned randomly to a college, giving the smaller colleges and d3 colleges a fair chance. An example of this is the University of Washington recruiting both Josiah Tostenson and Owen Powell. Those guys went one and two at the Arcadia 3200 a week ago, it's unreal that they're allowed to go to the same college...
