Does anyone have any recommendations on newer flats that are legal on the track? Conference meet is coming up and I don’t want to ruin my legs for nationals

excellent question
I don't think there are any modern flats that are legal. Old ones will probably leave your legs more trashed than super spikes, at least the softer ones like Dragonflys. Are you speaking from experience that even the modern spikes of today leave your legs feeling beat up? I've run 10k/5k doubles at conference and recovered fine so I just find it hard to believe that any other minimalist shoe would leave you feeling any better. If you've qualified for nationals I feel like your body should be fine given the talent you possess to recover from a meet of races prior to the big weekend.
Not flats per se but maybe checkout the Streakfly 2

Those are over the stack height limit and not WA (so not NCAA) approved on the track.
New Balance fuel cell pvlse and puma propio nitro are the 2 western flats that are track legal. People are using these for 10k and even 5k and shorter if they have foot issues from spikes.
Other than those, there is like the asics sortie available on ebay - but shipping from Japan takes a while sometimes.
