One of the dumbest statements ever. Puma sold a sh!t ton of shoes that they never would have sold otherwise after she won bronze. Every hobby jogging barista was convinced that they too could be an Olympian.
Puma made an offer to keep her and she declined that offer because she doesn't want anyone telling her when and where to run. She believes that led to her injuries by trying to come back too soon. She says she's made enough and saved enough to go it on he own for a while. She got her MBA and has learned a lot from her previous contracts and wants to be in control of her own destiny. She has not been on social media because she didn't have to be anymore contractually so she took a break.

True! I haven't seen anyone wearing Puma running shoes. Everyone wears either Hoka or Nike.

Good question. She has to do something to support herself. She has to get a full-time job or have her parents support her or have her boyfriend (if she has one) to support her.

I get that she's got issues that she needs help addressing, but there's no occupation where you can take a multi-year hiatus, especially in professional sports, and still collect a paycheck from employers or sponsors.
I hope she can mount a comeback (if she wants to continue competitive running), because she's a phenomenal runner when she's healthy.

I am always amazed that people think that running careers can go on forever. They just don't. She won a bronze Olympic Medal for the Marathon and had a great running career but now that is over. The body is worn out and tired.
She might still run but that doesn't mean you will hear about it.
