Serious question on who supports which side in Trump v. Zelenskyy

I’m not going to run a search for public comments at the moment, but I do know that the US voted alongside Syria and North Korea in the UN vote condemning Russia as the aggressor (with China abstaining but publicly declaring support for Russia). So you have a pretty good sense of who might favor the current administration.

In other democratic countries, afaik only some extreme right / fascist groups support this as they are also sometimes financed by Russia.

Trump has chosen both the weakness and the dishonor.

He has for sure not read "The Prince" of Machiavelli (probably doesn't even know who this is) but that is one of the most basic mistake.

Weakness by following the "powerful" Russia and becoming a russian ambassador, and dishonor by surrending to Russia and trying to push Ukraine to do the same.

So forget all morals, all ethics, all concensiousness and become Putin's dog.

How about a few things: they detest the notion of trampling on a nation’s sovereignty enough to be willing to put up with war (Are there hypocrites among them? Of course. There are hypocrites — and fools and knaves of all sorts and extent — on any side of any issue.)

You have a “solution”: Ukraine can cede land. Why can’t the solution be for Russia just to pull troops out and cease their prosecution of the war? That would also produce peace. Ukraine would not chase them onto Russian soil, nor would NATO support them in doing so. If you love, peace, so much and detest war so much, why aren’t you and your fellow supporters of the president urging him to lean hard into this solution in his discussions with Russia? He’s the master negotiator, so he can pull it off. Art of the deal.

How about this? Even without drying overheated historical comparisons, one might consider this war and proposals for peace in light of the concept of appeasement. There is a very different perspective from the. NATO countries that oppose the kind of “solution” you endorse: they believe that would create a pause in Russian aggression, not an end into it. And then it would be back to the drawing board looking for ways to throw more concessions at Putin in the name of peace.

Guess what. I could give a flying $@#% what the Europeans want or think of the US. Millions of Americans including myself are sick of seeing hundreds of billions of dollars of our money going to fund conflict around the world that has zero impact on the US. Not only does how this war conclude have zero impact on my life, this war would not be happening if we were not funding it.

And the domino theory in today's world is bull$hit. Russia is a failed superpower and has a GDP the fraction of Europe. They're stuck in a quagmire against poorly trained Ukrainian troops on their doorstep. The idea that they would have the desire or means to invade a European county with a modern military is absurd, much less cross the oceans to attack the US.

The Europeans have all been brainwashed by their state run media and have no idea of the history of what led to the conflict or what is really happening. Thank God we finally have a president who is putting Americans interests first.

It's possible to desire an end for the conflict while also recognizing the way DJT and his lap dog JD acted during that conference was abhorrent. I don't support endlessly throwing money at a conflict. I have said since the start of Russia's full scale invasion that diplomacy is the only way this conflict will be resolved. I understand Ukraine is going to need to compromise with Russia. What happened last Friday was NOT diplomacy; it was a media spectacle engineered by the White House designed to rile up the MAGA base and give justification for the administration's shift to an entirely pro-Russian position. The USA has the power to end this conflict and I 100% support doing so, but we don't have to let Russia get everything they want in the process.

Yes there will be peace, but only for a few years. During which Putin can rebuild Russia's economy and army, especially if sanctions are lifted. Then he'll attack again and take the rest of Ukraine. After that, he'll invade another eastern European country.

It's smart. You are going to be negotiating with Russia. How does it help to blame them? They didn't overthrow the elected govt in 2014. It wasn't them who spent 8 years bombing ethnic Russians on Donbass. It ain't Russia who has military bases surrounding America.

This conflict is one of national self-determination. Millions of ethnic Russians in Donbas wish to be part of Russia - not least because of the Kiev sponsored genocide from 2014-2021.

Instead, they prop up this clown Z who is a servant of the globalists, not the people.

Putin has no interest in invading the U S.
