I'm going to try to petition my state's organization to add the javelin and was wondering which states do/do not have it. Can you post your state with a yes/no?
I am pretty sure these are correct so far:
Alabama - yes
Connecticut - yes
Delaware - no
Florida - no
Georgia - no
Kentucky - no
Maryland - no
North Carolina - no
Pennsylvania - yes
South Carolina - no
Virginia - yes
West Virginia - no
New Jersey has a lame version if it. In NJ they must throw the jav. with a rubber tip on the end of the Javelin.
In Bama they have the jav, but it has a rubber tip, but it's not so bad. I think they had the turbo jav for a year or two before going to the real thing.
Michigan - no
New Hampshire does.
Texas does not.
New York-yes
Washington state has to have rubber tips on them (at least as of 1999),it may have changed since then.
In British Columbia they throw the real thing.
Is it just a high school rule, do club teams throw normal javelins in those states?
