Regardless of whether Kiplimo does step away from the track for good, he will always be remembered as one of the few -- if any -- runners who have beaten JIngy at a race longer than the mile.

I think he dealt with an injury last summer
this. His interviews all around Paris were about him coming back from an injury. Obviously people dismissed that seeing how fast he ran, but now with the perspective of the HM time he just ran, maybe he was more/more recently injured than we realised, back then
Why would anyone be off cycle at the Olympics and on cycle for a random half marathon six months later?
Additional testing and scrutiny for the Olympics. Federation pressure to not get caught on such a high profile stage. Monetary incentives are less. Whatever reason it seems to be common the last couple of Olympic cycles.

No need to be an ***hole. Didn’t Kiplimo run a 26:33 as part of his HM? That time, alone, would probably be fast enough to snag a medal in the WC 10000m.
