Just bear in mind if it is accurate he ran 13:19/27:26 before turning 16 in old spikes in 2016. He improved quite a bit from then. Considering he was near his absolute prime in 2020, it seems *most* plausible to me, he was more like 21 in that year. That would make him 26-27 now and 17-18 in 2016, which I could very much see.

Even if he is 27, How Many American Men his age or younger have run within 4 Minutes of his Time?

Not many but we are bad at the half marathon outside of Mantz and Hall historically. Mantz just ran 59:17 in worse conditions with the wind. I think he would be sub-59 capable on the right day. Grant Fisher is competitive with a bunch of guys who've gone under 58, so that would be his target possibly when he takes a crack at it next year maybe. That being said Kiplimo has always been uniquely good at the half marathon/roads despite pretty middling mileage. That is beyond Barega, Kejelcha, Gebrhiwet etc. who are definitely good at it and have gone under 58 minutes on higher mileage programs.
