Huge talent
Sebastian Lörstad of Sweden, still 16 years ran 13.36 at the Armagh Road 5k a few days ago.
He actually lead from the gun but was passed late in race and ended up third. Worth to notice is that 157 runners were below 15.00

This race had become a real highlight of the racing calendar attracting runners from all over! great ladies 3k too!
His progression is so wild and he seems to have an incredible coach in Daniel Nilsson who really understands the norwegian threshold training. I wouldnt be surprised if we will see Sebastian in LA2028.

Hello Daniel
Based on a couple insta clips, his form is reminiscent of Jakobing
Imagine how the boards would lose their minds if an american hs junior ran 13:36

Any access to a detailed profile of his training etc? Thanks if so.
I'm curious where this sits on the world AT list for 16 year olds. It's phenomenal and, due respect , serious distance running has low profile in Sweden outside the diehards.
If i am not mistaken Sebastian is only 0,5second slower than Jakob ingebrigtsen’s U18 european 5000m record.
His coach did a podcast and mentioned that Sebastian started running at 11. He has been running a 5000 race each summer with the following times:
17:24 (12 years old)
16:37 (13)
15:43 (14)
14:57 (15)
14:08 (16)
This new race with 13:36 (16/17) indicates that the trend keeps going.

Thanks. Any way you could post the podcast link please? I am blessed with swedish relatives. Each year the 5k time seems more outstanding for his age (I'm not raising any of the usual suspicions in saying this, I will stress that). Is there a cross country skiing background?
