Personally, I think if I had to "blow it on something" instead of just investing it, I would do another "running vacation." $2000 is about how much it cost me to do my last trip with a shuttle service (for my bags) and really nice inns each night, good food, good beer, and some sightseeing on either end.
I think I would like do run across Ireland next time. Small, beautiful nation that is easily run-across-able. It was a fun way to meet locals and see the country.

invest it. Invest ALL your money, never spend any of it. One day you will be rich, rich, richer than CA.
Downside is you won't want to spend it then either, being so hard-core frugal all your life. But the fun is in getting rich, not being rich.
