Anyone try the new Tangent 2's? It's a toss up for me between these and the Fast Twitch Endurance. I am looking for a lighter marathon shoe.

I have used both and either would work for the marathon. If you are heavier I would go with the tangent 2.
Just to clarify, are you referring to the Tangent and Fastwitch Endurance 2? If so, the one difference is the fit. The new Fastwitch 2 is wider and more open in the toebox. (The original was considerably narrower). Other than that, the Fastwitch should be 1-2 ounces lighter. The ride is also just a little firmer. If you have used the Fastwitch for some training/MP workouts, you should be fine.
No, I was referring to the new Tangent 2. I am a bit heavier at 5'9 and 150 lbs so I chose the Tangent 2. Tried them out, feel nice so far but have only gone 6 miles in them.

Not to be argumentative, but the previous poster has a point. As far as the website says, there is no Tangent 2, but there is a Fast Twitch 2 Endurance. Are you wearing a shoe that's not available on the website?
I'm just asking because I've been using the Tangents, like them, and would hate to hear they'd been redesigned for heavier runners.
There is a Saucony outlet store near to my work and once in a while you can find nice shoes there. Checking the box it says available Q3 2006 so I guess they aren't available yet. I wouldn't say they are for heavy runners. I just weighed a shoe and it's about 10.5 oz.
They do seem much more supportive than the Fast Twitch, which is why I chose them but fatties should stay away from them. It's probably the lightest shoe I would consider for a marathon. I was just asking if anyone has had problems wearing either shoe for marathon training/racing.
I'm 160, 43 and have done 2 marathons (slower than 2 hours, but faster than 3 ;) in the Fastwitch SPEED, and have had no foot issues at all. First shoe I can say that about. The new Fastwitch Endurance 2 is more substantial than the old Speed. It's more about the way they fit than all the "support" that shoe companies build in. Give me a shoe that's light, flexible but not MUSHY and I'm a happy man
Saucony Tangent 2 is to be released June 1, 2006, according to Saucony.
Anybody try the new Tangent 2's? Thoughts?
For those of you who do not think there is a tangent 2 click on the link....

I just recently got the Tangent 2's and I really like them a lot. It has the feel of a racing flat with a little more cushion and support.
Having trained in the tangent and both versions of the Fast twitch ... The Tangent 2 has the identical midsole to the 1; all they changed is the colors. Basically, the two are them same shoe. The new Fast twitch endurance 2 seems identical to the older version, but it's forefoot hasn't worn well compared to the first version. The bands on the Fast twitch side were a welcome addition, though; several people I know that wore the Fast twitch (Speed or endurance) split the upper from the midsole on the outside of their shoe. This seems to solve that. My personal feeling? I liked the Fast twitch alot (it was my everyday trainer); but the Tangent wore surprisingly well. The Tangent feels slightly heavier, and between the medial post and the flare are more supportive. The Endurance is lighter, more flexible, but I found both it and the "speed" version very similar in support. All three were good shoes.
aaaghh sip you warm my heart. there is more than just a color change. the bootie construction on the inside is more plush and will wick better. also a slight change on the overlays and a bit more cushion throughout the shoe.
of course the tangent will be heavier and last longer as its not a true racing flat and should be in the performance category which contains the DS trainer, Axiom and so on. the speed is a completely neutral flat with no medial post whatsoever. the endurance has a small post which provides as much support as a flat can
