The most overrated run in the entire world is “around the tan.” It a steep uphill followed by a long down hill and a tiny bit of nice and flat along the river.
The elite runners get to run on the grass horse racing track which looks good.
Albert Park is where most people do their workouts.
It's a flat 5.1k loop, with the option of a gravel track along the water's edge or a slick road surface (around the F1 course).

In no particular order:
1. Yarra Bend Park (rolling trails and gravel paths)
2. Princes Park (2km flat gravel loop)
3. Albert Park (5km flat road loop, also a gravel loop around the lake)
4. Capital City Trail (full loop is ~30km, but runs along the Yarra River).
Agree with above post - The Tan is overrated, particularly if you’re doing laps of it. Similarly, running along the beach in St Kilda loses its magic pretty quick.
