Good idea, they are garbage. As a runner you should have plenty of energy, naturally.

Caffeine, Beta-A, L-Citrulline Malate and Creatine cover most "nrg" needs. Nutri-cost on amzn is a good surce, but there are others. Find a base that works and experiment. Wal-mart has inexpesive sugar-free drink mixes that can be used to mix em up. Do your research, check with your dr., and more isnt always better.
If you’re drinking 2/day everyday, giving them to will definitely be of benefit to you.
They are addicting. I found that if I'm up later in the morning (830am+) and aim to do things later in the day, after 5pm, then I'm compelled to crank an energy drink. But if I'm up earlier in the morning, get to resting by 6pm and later, then a couple coffees without an e drink will suffice.
Passed out free reign dreamsicle at planet fitness. 300 mg caffeine. An entire 2 liter bottle of mountain dew has that and that's considered a caffeine heavy soda.

At 60 years of age, I take one before going for my 4 mile jog. It helps. If I don't, i barely have the energy to complete my jog.
