Mountain bikers and gravel cyclists often seek out specific trails for the thrill: the twists and turns, the exciting bumpy terrain, the downhill speeding.
Do any of you do the same for running, especially trail running? Just for the feel of it, no need to obsess with times and PRs but rather with technique.
I'm a former college XC runner, but now I run trails and dirt roads for the feel of it. I would pick very specific downhill trails or specific trails with lots of twists and turns where I could maximize my endorphin rush.
It's something my gravel cyclist friends can really relate to, but my competitive runner friends have a bit of trouble understanding my mindset.
