I started running last year August because I was not aerobically fit and I was only running 5-10 miles a week and at that time my longest run was 58 minutes. October of that year I became even stronger because I could handle 63 minutes on a long run while also running 4 miles everyday. January this year 2024 I ran new pr's of 18 minutes in the 5km and 4:38 1500 and I kept on progressing until July this year when I ran 4:24 1500. In the summer, I was consistent with my zone 2 running and I even ran 2 hours every Wednesday, I was very fit and aerobically strong and could run 60+ minutes everyday averaging 69-70 miles a week. Now during the winter ( Oct-December) I started doing threshold once a week without any true tempo background. I feel worried that I might overtrain and peak early because my pb's are slow. Should I work on lowering my times with speed training before doing double threshold or keep up with the threshold and do one speed session a week?
