I call BS. I heard Kiefer Sutherland ran a fast 400m in HS.
Dana Carvey ran 1.55 in the 800...or was that Owen/Luke Wilson....or was that Robin Williams.
Williams ran 1;58, Cruise dropped out of HS.
I saw a documentary (I think...) in which Tom Hanks ran back and forth across America multiple times. Started the running craze if I remember correctly.

no you idiot, how could be possibly do that when he was dying of AIDS only weeks afterwards?
Dana Carvey ran @ 9:10 for the two-mile. He looks like your typical running dweeb actually.

Philadelphia...idiot
Am I the idiot? Maybe I'm wrong, but my quick internet search showed that Philadelphia was produced in 1993 and Forrest Gump in 1994.
No way, during that time Tom Hanks was castaway on a deserted island.
Chris Farley threw the shot 61 feet in a high school meet. Still the school record.

Dana Carvey raced Alice Cooper while on the set of "Wayne's World" and Cooper ran 1.54.
I heard that he also threw 210 ft in the discus, all while living in a van down by the river.

I went to CSM a few years after Dana Carvey was there. He ran the Steeple, but I think he was just under 10 minutes. 9:10 sounds kind of fast for him.
Tom Cruise was too doughy in Risky Business to be a 4:14 miler.
When is the Idiot Convention get to town?
Dana Carvey ran 8:38.2 in the 2-Mile but it was after the school year ended and too far into the summer, so it did not count as a national record.
Also Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson both split 1:47 in their teams 4 x 8, which ran 8:17. The other two guys split 2:20ish.
Tom Cruise was more of a wrestler in high school (according to most bios) and I thought I read somewhere that he ran the 400 in track. He was a producer of "Without Limits" and according to IMDB, "Tom Cruise considered playing Prefontaine, but decided against it citing that he was too old for the part."
So, he probably does have some sort of running background. Have you ever noticed that in nearly every Tom Cruise movie there is a scene of him sprinting?
Alice Cooper was ACTUALLY a 1500m Olympic alternate back in the day. At least, that's the rumour I've heard.
