Interesting Strava with only 99km (61m) average last 4 weeks. The guy got dope genetics
Two weeks ago, he ran a 10km in 27:49 in Bordeaux without pacers and three weeks ago he ran he half marathon in Valencia in 59:46, that's why his mileage is not very high during those weeks.
Those times are a bit unexpected but Daguinos doesn't come from nowhere. He's well known in France since years. I was expecting a time under 27:30 today but not 27:04.

Notable names in the fold:
He absolutely crushed Narve Nordas (27:31) and Getnet Wale (27:33) the other notable names here in 5th and 6th. Nordas has regressed at the 5K and up seemingly despite his “lack of talent” at the 1500. Runner-up Lelgut (KEN) in 27:16 suspiciously huge improvement. 3rd place Charles Rotich (27:18) is a promising young teen who I wonder if he will draw NCAA interest.
In the mens 5K, Reynold Cheruiyot (13:16) was just beaten by Melkeneh Azize (13:15) who’s had an underwhelming senior career but was a good junior running 3:33. Abel Kipsang ran 13:37 but he’s an 800/1500 guy so not shocking. 8:02 steepler Abraham Sime was just ahead in 13:36 which isn’t great.

Yeah true, but still in september he was running about 120 to 130km per week most of them slower than 4'30"/km. I've never seen anything like that for a 27'04" guy

Well we do have to recognize a 27:04 in supershoes on the road is probably like a 27:20-25 back in the day. His season is interesting in that he ran 1:48.2/3:37 in June which are great results for a distance-oriented guy. Instead of trying for a fast track 5,000 off that like a sub 13:10 or quicker he went all-in on the roads and put together consistent if not very high mileage (65-80mpw). Clearly at a new level since coming back. I think suspicions are warranted but the performance level is not like Katir in the spring of 2020 just yet or even Nordas/Georgia Bells level. 27:04 is a “nice” performance which would keep you competitive until the racing really gets going with a real field.
