Hello. I don't have any posts because I joined to ask this. There has to be someone out there who understands this challenge with finding running shoes.
Basically, I can't seem to find any running shoes that fit like my old ones that were perfect (Gel Kayano 28 and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 16). I have tried Gel Kayano 30/31, Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23, Brooks Ghost 21, Brooks Glycerin, Saucony Tempus, and Asics Gel Nimbus. I'm not a marathon runner - I'm just a daily walker/jogger.
The issue I have is all of these newest iterations of shoes I swore by for years (Adrenaline, Kayano) seem to have a higher arch, and one of my feet just can't deal with that pronounced arch. After running a quarter of mile in the latest Adrenalines, I was limping in pain.
There is only one shoe I came across by accident, called the Nike Pegasus 4 Trail Gore-Tex (GTX). It's out of production now, but it has no pronounced arch and resembles those older Kayanos and Adrenalines from 5+ years ago. I bought a second pair on ebay and it fits nothing like the first lol. So I have one pair of out of production shoes that I can use at the moment.
At first I thought I had developed fallen arches or a medical condition, so I had foot specialists x-ray my feet and they said they don't see fallen arches.
I am looking for any recommendations for models or brands that don't have these maximal/high arches. I do have wide feet that are not super high arches, but it appears neutral/flat soles is where it's at for me.
My reseearch has suggested maybe I should try:
Asics Novablast?
Saucony guide?
Maybe Altra
Hoka?
Many thanks
