I'd go with the 10,000m. That race is about 24 laps too long. They should just have the disatanc events at seperate meets from the sprints. People want to see the 100m and 400m, not a bunch of skinny duded running in circles for an hour.

Any distance race. It goes like this: "Hey! I have a good idea! Let's go run around in circles as fast as we can, over and over and over like a dog trying to lie down - and we can end up exhausted and in the same friggin spot!"
That's distance running on the track.
At least sprinters finish 100m away from where they start. Geez.
race walk, or as we like to call it-lunch.

Oh, I agree. That's why cross-country is way better.

If I'm not mistaken, 10,000m runners also finish 100m from where they started? 3000m runners actually finish a whole 200m from where they start. You can't get anymore distance between start and finish.
WRONG!

How so?

Were we sleeping during the division lesson in grade 1?
He's wrong about you being wrong twice. You're only wrong once.
10000/400=25
3000/400=7.5
The 10,000 is awfully boring if you're not invested in the race. A good 5,000 I can get into even if I don't have anyone in the race, but not the 10.

what's wrong with being wrong?
Wow..You're right. I'm an idiot. But hey 50% isn't bad.
I'm sick of seeing Stacey Dragilia for the women's pole vault. She deserves air time, but just giving my preference.
In addition, the 110M hurdles are usually sloppy with hit hurdles. Plus the setup / false start delays are longer. Usually I'm dying to see some distance races at this point.
screw that. bang for your buck, the 400IH are probably the most exciting.
The 10k is probably the most boring. Typically the race is decided before the last half lap. Although one of the best races I've ever seen was Geb/Tergat in 2000.
The best race is a 3k steeple with slow runners. Waiting for someone to completely eat it is VERY exciting.

The 1500M is the most exciting non-relay event for most distance fans.
I completely agree with Mtn Dew. There is nothing better than watching a group of greenhorn steeplers.

WORD. and a least the 10K is running. I personally think the shotput or discus are the most boring events...well that is if you even consider them events...
The womens 10k is the worst.
Personally, I hate the 100m dash, especially on TV - I saw the race once, no need to replay it in slow mo 5 times as well! And what makes it worse is when Carol Lewis is doing the commentary!
