If i was incredibly wealthy, after a large home the first thing I would do is sign several of america's best marathoners and give them a guaranteed salary on the conditions that they copy the training logs of america's greatest marathoners, specifically the Greater Boston Track Club folks (Bill Rodgers, Greg Meyer, etc).
How much money would someone have to pay you as an elite to copy verbatim from some 1970's logs?

Everyone can look up all the latest science. This guy wants to know why the guys 40 years ago ran times that would still be competitive today. That information would hold great value.
The training of elite runners is available for free on strava. If Bill Rodgers training is so good, train in a similar manner and you'll get fast. Bill Rodgers training + super shoes and you could win Boston.
