Taking the concept from Bill Connelly's SP+ football rankings and the data from Bijan Mazaheri's lacctic.com site I've made rankings for all four 4-year divisions
D2 Wingate 17th in the nation
D1 Grambling 1,150th
NAIA Doane > D1 Baylor

11,500 SEC style roster spots!
LaCrosse and Wartburg are top 100 programs with zero scholarhip
This is very cool. Go Wartburg!
Many of the top 100 teams have no distance scholarahips. Wartburg and UW Lacrosse have such low admission standards, they can get many athletes who can't get admitted to Madison or Iowa State.
Laactic is way off , they need to change something. post season will show this
Dude. Thank you. Great resource for looking at colleges to run for. Haven't seen anything like this before.
I think Wingate being that high is a little over inflated but maybe not.
Best D2 team I can remember was Adams in 08-09? Range when they had multiple 13:30 or better guys. Wingate has better depth than that team.
But Wingate did race in a DI invite and lost to Virginia Tech who was 8th in the ACC.

They sat 4 of their top 7 in the Panorama Farms race.
I stand corrected. Wingate for the win
updated for the week!

D2 Wingate > Colorado > D3 Wisc LaCrosse > Oklahoma > D3 Salisbury > San Jose St
Where do you rank 1-1121?
Women

Rankings from 1-1180
What do you think is off? Also, have you looked at results of conference and regional meets? It's extremely accurate by any reasonable measure. Would welcome your feedback though
Updated after D1 and D3 Regionals.
Who are the best teams that didn't qualify?
What coaches don't get enough credit?
What schools are way worse than they should be?
Still no idea where you are getting average 5k times for the 2024 xc season for any of these teams. times used are not accurate.
I assume this is from Lacctic. It is the best thing to have ever happened to college XC running..
But it's not accurate.
Not picking on Duke but here is a perfect example. Duke women... rated 124. they were last in the ACC champs and ran 2 at regionals... if you are rating the 2024 xc season the times and the ratings are not accurate.
Yeah this is so bad , please shut down the laactic rankings.
