Great job. She's overlooked constantly.
I have forgotten she was still out there.

Switched coaches from Brent to the Craggs. Significantly outperformed all who are currently in the NC group coached by the Craggs.
amazing run Sara!
Allison Felix called that it's all about being a mom.
She's run well before, just inconsistent. I didn't notice outside of Dakotah Lindwurm and Jess Tonn that many other elite American women ran, they all did Chicago. They had her ranked as first American in the write up based on her PR.
She is a four time mom. Really impressive.
I came across a photo of her in her Colorado uniform on the sidelines after her race feeding her baby.
I am a guy and just in wonder at how she has juggled it all. Resilient is an understatement.

In a few years when testing improves, she will move up the placings to her rightful first place spot.
It’s really not that surprising. Partly because this was a relatively weak U.S. field. But as another poster pointed out, while she’s admittedly had a few stinkers and DNF’s, she’s also had some pretty solid performances the past 3 years (CIM, Chicago).
And a lot of her bad races are due to illness…which if you have young 4 kids, well, you understand.

Agreed. She set the course record at CIM in 2021!
Sounds similar to Malindi Elmore (married to Graham Hood), although she is older (44) who has 2 kids, but was also a 1500m runner 20 years ago (4.02 in 2004). She too has run 2h23 for the marathon. She was top 10 in OG in 2021. Didn't run as well in Paris, and age may be catching up with her.
great redemption story. she trained all year for the Chicago marathon and got sick with Covid a week before and wasn't able to finish. she entered NY Marathon at the last minute and gave it a shot. great to see all that hard work wasn't wasted.
One of her kids isn't young. Sara had her in college.
Vince must be proud!

in some cases it quite literally is because pregnancy is free (legal) EPO, hyper red-blood-cell production depending on your genetics

Her daughter is a freshman at NAU.
A 38 year old Mom with four kids beats all the full time female runners that are much younger with no kids? Sara is simply amazing!
