I have a 60K in 3.5 weeks. I haven’t run longer than 19 miles for a long run since April. I’m going for 20 miles this Sunday and thinking of going 22-23 the following weekend.
I’m averaging 45-50 mpw, but most of my mileage is at a faster pace than I plan to race. This is my first race longer than a marathon, so I really have no time goal, but I feel like 8:15 pace is really comfortable. My MP is around 7 minutes for reference.
Since my goal is just to see if I can jog the distance without walking (other than fuel stops), do I need to taper more than a couple of days?
