Incentivizing someone to register to vote is decidedly illegal. You may not agree with the law but that is the law. Making a financial opportunity available only for registered voters is arguably similar from a legal standpoint.
FWIW, it looks like offering educational incentives like scholarships to high school students contingent on their registering as a voter is seen as legally acceptable. I’m guessing Musk’s lawyers decided to use a similar tactic by tying the incentive to “constitutional education” or some such argument, but it seems like a stretch to get them to support the Second and register, a combination targeting both voting action and conservatives.
