The 2024 Big 12 Cross Country Championship will take place Friday, Nov. 1 in Waco, Texas, hosted by Baylor University at the Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.
BYU and Oklahoma State collected the Big 12 Cross Country Championships last year as the Cougars took home the women’s title in their first year in the Conference and the Cowboys secured the men’s trophy for the fourth consecutive year.
The Big 12 boasts the top two men’s programs in the latest USTFCCCA Division I Coaches Poll and three of the top four teams with Oklahoma State at No. 1, BYU at No. 2 and Iowa State at No. 4. Colorado (No. 24) and Texas Tech (No. 30) added two more teams in the men’s top-30 rankings for the Conference. In the women’s poll, the league is represented by No. 1 BYU, No. 4 West Virginia, No. 6 Utah and No. 18 Oklahoma State. The Big 12 is the only conference entering conference championship weekend to have multiple teams ranked in the top five in each of the polls.
Disciplined race by BYU. Nice to see the foreign recruited talent didn't win out over homegrown talent.
Over homegrown talent who are 26 years old like Casey Clinger. BYU using those gap years and covid years.
Everyone uses Covid years, and taking two years off training is hardly an advantage.
From OSU, Victor is 26 years old, Laban is a 22-year old sophomore, Denis is a soon-to-be 22-year old sophomore, ... and do you think any of them had a two year break from running?
