The reason I ask is that she was a good 10,000m runner but would get outsprinted in races due to being "really slow". But she ran 10,000m in 30:01 which was at the time 2nd of all time behind only Wang Junxia (about 30 seconds quicker).
People, including me, talk about needing pace to reach that level over 10k. 30 minutes is very quick. Was Radcliffe's lack of pace just relative to other top runners or was she a slow sprinter?
30mins is 72 seconds per 400. I can probably manage a single 68 off a 100 of about 16. I use that as an excuse for not breaking 36 minutes. She was surely much quicker than that, right?
