Does the optical heart rate monitor on the new Garmin Forerunner still locks with cadence?

    I just received my new 255 as a replacement for a 235. I was wondering if the problem is still there.

    I've had a 255 for about 2yrs now. The optical HRM is massively better than the 235. I now trust the HRM about 95% of the time versus trusting the 235 about 60% of the time.

    Never a problem. Didn't even happen when I had the 245. Garmin has long since fixed the cadence lock problem.

    Depends on humidity, skin color,band tightness etc but, yes,cadence lock still happens

    Since you've established a respect for the Garmin product go ahead and invest the $120 (+/-) for the HRM-Pro Plus and do the HR the best way. Its more accurate that the watch.
