Well, I have the day off and will be flipping between the Sox and the Marathon. Does it get any better than this?
For Sox fans, you'll be relieved to know that Trot's back and his hat is in mid-season form (i.e. nasty has hell).

The two women's leaders are the lady from Japan and the one from Latvia that won the 2005 NYC marathon. They are at the front of a pack of about 12 women. About 10 or so minutes into that race.
5:24 1st mile for the women.
Tosa, Prokopcuka and Zivile Balciunaite of Lithuania led the pack through 2 miles in 10:59, for a 5:35 mile.
I read that Casey Moulton (2:15:25 on February 19 at Freescale) is running. Dude is tough as nails and just getting started at this distance.
Women thru 5k in 17:09. First Americans are Emily Levan & Tere Stouffer in 18:49.
Men are off! Lots of Hanson's jerseys visible...they might be ugly, but they're easy to pick out.

I counted nine women in the lead pack.
Tosa led the women through 5 miles in 27:24.

The first mile split for Yuda is 4:57. The chasing pack includes all of the anticipated contenders, including Keflezighi and Culpepper. The pack is eight seconds in arrears.
Yuda chased down by a pack led by Meb and Culpepper. Second mile in 5:10.
4:57 and then 5:10. So 10:07 for 2 miles. Meb and Culpepper are in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Prokopcuka leads the pack thru 10k in 34:07. Still approx 9 strong.
bostonmarathon.org wont work for me anymore to track people. 10:07 isnt that fast, is it slow enough to keep sell or gilmore in the lead group?
