Because they think Trump is expendable, and the Vance is more like them ... ignoring that Vance dresses in drag and has a wife from a sh!thole country where they eat cats. With Trump terminated the Rs will come out in force and vote Vance in.
It wasn’t much of an attempt. He was arrested about half a mile from the entrance to the rally, and there was no way he could have gotten in. He’s already out on a $5K bail.

Ok, the same strategy as the democrats, but with a twist

An attempt is still an attempt - even it fails. But it was another Republican, so failure was predictable.

So what Dems prefer Vance over Trump? Two equally toxic choices. Most Dems hope Harris will be the next president. Or are you saying they prefer Walz to Harris (equally dumb)?

Is this a rebuttal to people who say, “He eventually ceded power”?
My goodness, you have to make some kind of silly overly partisan jab, though?
But I believe that one should take it seriously, and I’m glad Mr. Trump and the rally attendees are safe. Violence has no place in politics. Part of taking things seriously, of course, means refusing to spout far-fetched conspiracy theories.

Deranged man with gun, very atypical in America
The plan is 100% Trump dies soon or the 25th though. Vance is the real candidate
Yeah news flash your highschool textbook isn't the real world. Every nation on this planet was established through bloodshed, power is enforced through bloodshed. Politics is simply about who gets to wield violence

The bail is CA insanity & who was the "other republican"?

Don't think it can't happen here
Thinking it can or can’t isn’t the point, nor is has vs. hasn’t. It’s should or should not in contemporary America. The “should not” is “violence has no place in politics.”

And news flash: I’m pretty sure every high school textbook offers at least a fairly reasonable record of violence in the real world.

A "silly partisan jab"? We now have three failed assassination attempts on Trump, and all from perpetrators identified as Republican supporters - not to mention the failed attempt by Trump supporters to overthrow the government in 2020. Whatever the issue, failure is a Republican byword - and not only because there isn't a Republican Party anymore but only a Trump cult. Trump has long cultivated violence; it is unsurprising that he has become a target. What is even more interesting is that the threat to his life is from the right.
