Nike Dragon Fly XC Replacement Spikes

Help Please.

Took my 8th grade daughter's word on its face when I got to the course last weekend expecting to insert the Spikes for her and make sure everything was tightened enough, and she assured me they were all fully screwed in.

Naturally, she finished down a spike. Happens I guess.

Problem is, I can't find a place to get replacements - these are these somewhat newer fangled spikes (I'm old and haven't dealt with spikes in decades) that have a wider plastic pyramid design surrounding the actual metal spike that protrudes out the bottom (bottom meaning ground facing side, not the thread of course). I was actually kind of impressed with this design for a cross country spike - hadn't necessarily seen that, but again, I'm old.

Any advice on where to access replacements would be much appreciated.

You might have to just replace it with a steel hex spike. You need a special wrench for them.

Dad:

You do not need to replace them with those mud cleats unless she is racing in really, really bad conditions. Most people just use the regular 3/8 or 1/4 pyramids. My kids have actually never used those cleat things.

Thanks for the input.

I'll just put the standard 1/4 inch pyramids back in for this weekend.

Having to re-learn the equipment ropes based on some of these modern developments.
