What if all the comments you’ve ever made on LR all of a sudden disclosed your real name, available to all significant others, employers, etc… What would you do?
this type of breach would make Wikileaks and Equifax look like child’s play.
I cant imagine it would be too difficult to dox people if someone really really wanted to try. Hackers seem to be pretty smart people, and this appears to be a pretty low tech site.
I'm usually nice to greg and i always try to make the jews/shrimp guy aware of the fact that he is a terrible person. I have made 100s of troll posts over the years, but I at least try to be funny and not just mean. (Unless I'm dealing with a clear bigot.) I think the court of public opinion might exonerate me, but I'd be pretty nervous anyway.
Don't worry about it; some day, there will be neural linking which will showcase who is evil, who is incompetent, and will rank us based on how good we are, how competent, how empathetic, and how likely to cause actual horrible occurrences we all are.
for some people, those with nothing to hide, it will be a blessing
everyone should hang their shadow out to dry; most of us aren't evil and will cause relatively little harm to others. It's good to have a place to verbally act out
some of us are dumb enough to cause harm by accident through our words; but even those people don't deserve to be treated like villains
My policy is that I only write what I would say to that person in real life. So it wouldn't bother me. But I am sure there would be some interesting surprises, like which trolls where Rojo and which ones where Rojo.
At the end this forum is just cheap entertainment. There are maybe 2-300 people posting here under 20-45 different names each.

That would be a much bigger scandal in the running world than the Herron Wikipedia thing. LetsRun would be completely ostracized by all pro runners in solidarity after seeing some of the things that were posted about themselves/competitors just to get clicks on a website.
And lawsuits would fly against MANY posters for defamatory things that have been posted.
Luckily there would be such a huge volume of posts that people would be unlikely to dig through it all to find the really bad stuff. It would be like when someone subpoenas documents for a lawsuit so the defendant drops off an entire warehouse full of paper files with the really damning stuff buried so deep it takes a team of a dozen people weeks to find.

this is the whitest sh*t I've heard in a long time

Well then homie, cover your eyes and ears until you can scurry back to your ‘hood and keep it real, or whatever.
