Runners in All Black Clothing LAME

It's also a braindead thing to do.

Given that heat dissipation is a huge component of performance, wearing clothing that worsens your ability to do this is just idiotic.

And yeah, in just about every road race I've been in (even the hot and warm ones), the most common outfit is black on black; and very often full-length black tights.

Tell that to John Walker.

I think they’re usually just mediocre White kids who happen to run and are nervous of not fitting in.

Some school districts have banned all black outfits due to the emotional disconnect and depression it brings to the mental state of student esteem. The All Blacks NZ rugby squad doesn't seem to be effected but rather the exact opposite.

Unfortunately it isnt. Just read about a variety of policy changes districts were making around the country. Phone drama, dress code etc.... all in the name of social and emotional welfare. Funny how that's the flag the public schools are waving now after all the news about gr00ming, keeping secrets from parents, etc.. the last few years.

That’s exactly the reason why I used to dress like that. Black hoodie, black sweats for summer training runs. I thrived during hot races.

I like runners dressed in black. Not fan of seeing bulges and bouncing body parts. Pro runner's kits are ridiculous in that regard.

Yeah, you’ve got every right to criticize a 1500 Olympic champion and mile WR breaker because he only ran 13:19/5k at age 34. Sure.

Admittedly, Rod Dixon, another great runner who wore the all black kit of New Zealand, wore a white tank when he won the NYC Marathon.

I remember Khalid Khannouchi setting a marathon WR in all black though.
