Without going back to research it, didn’t she pick up an injury and/or illness that interrupted her training before the Games? Or did that only happen to Mu?
A weird year for the 800m US women. Athing went from sub 1:55 runner to a non factor. Akins went from trials champion to unsponsored. Now Wiley went from not even making the final at trials in the 800m to US number one in the 800m in 2024.

Add to this weirdness, there were three prior Olympic finalists in the Trials final of the event, including two medalists, and they were the last three finishers, nowhere close to making the team.
