Does anyone have any information on Bekele's next race. Is it even official that Kipchoge has retired? Bekele never gave away his shoes, pants and socks after the race, so I expect to see him in London next year, although it would be nice to see him in Valencia again before the end of the year.
He had a hard day on Saturday, and has suffered more injuries than anyone else in that race, but still pretty much held an even pace for the whole race. He did have some pain that prevented him from pushing harder in London to keep his lead and win that race. If he didn't have it, he would of won London. Then he would of needed to recover from whatever it was. If you give everyone else the same injuries and preparation level's as Bekele, then most of the field would DNF, and nobody else would be faster then 2:12.
Tamarit Tola is no doubt a good runner, and before Saturday I imagined he would get silver behind Bekele if Bekele's training wasn't interrupted by injuries. The rest of the top 10 finishers are overrated.
Bekele should lower his master's WR even further in Valencia. Discus
