Anyone here get accepted for the Snickers Marathon Team?
I'm on the Milky Way team and we're going to beat your ass.
I got identical e-mails from them and polar stating that the teams have not been picked yet, they will be by the end of the month.
Well, I'm sponsored by the USDA. All I'm allowed to consume is meat and dairy products. We'll be sure to beat everyone's ass. They're currently using EPO on our cows.
Dear Snickers Marathon Team Applicant:
First off, we want to express our appreciation for your interest in the 2006 Snickers Marathon Team. It has been a pleasure to examine the over 2,500+ athletes that applied for sponsorship. Selection of this year’s team was based on some of the following factors among others: overall leadership and athletic skills, frequency of participation in events and competition, the athletes' sphere of influence within their training circles, primary sport of competition, geographic location, and overall dedication to the sport. We were also working within specific standards as set forth by the sponsor.
I want each and every applicant to realize the difficulty in selecting from such an exceptional pool of athletes. We are writing to let you know that unfortunately, you were not selected for this year’s program. We realize we had to pass on some incredible athletes like yourself and want to assure you that this decision is not a reflection on your athletic achievements.
If an opening does become available, you will be notified via e-mail immediately. Thanks once again for your interest and good luck in the 2006 season!
Best regards,
Team Snickers Marathon

I got that!
I got accepted yesterday, this topic was up yesterday and a couple of people said they did.
...not breaking balls but you got selected how? Your either a one eyed amputee cancer surviving abandoned-at-birth recovered addict with two first names Gallowalker OR you've run 2:10. Which is it?? My guess is the former. Like Powerbar they're not looking for good runners, they're looking for good human interest stories.
I got the same crap.
Pr 14:32, is this too slow? lol I guess now a days it is. But once it was a freaking world record.
Dear Athlete:
Congratulations! We’re excited to inform you that you have been selected to become a member of the 2006 Snickers Marathon Team.

Do you feel better about yourself now?
I'm in as well. In true letsrun fashion, I will divulge my identity as a choice of one of the following:
1. Post-colleagiate 31 min 10Ker who is aspiring to run a fast marathon and hopefully hit the OTQ mark
2. Reasonably good Masters marathoner at 2:42
3. Grand masters marathoner at 2:55
4. 3:38 marathoner who lost 80 lbs via running and diet.
5. "World record aspiring" treadmill marathoner who likes to get homoerotic pictures posted on the web.
Does anyone know yet how many people have been chosen either nationally or regionally?

Just curious, what is on the Race Schedule? Is it the same for everyone? Are you getting any money or just apparel? Give us some details dude.
No you fill out what races you are going to do this year. Here is what they say I will get:
Team Athletic Apparel. Upon your execution of this Agreement, you shall be provided with Team apparel for racing, training and casual wear at no cost to you. This supply of Team apparel must last for the entirety of the Term. You may purchase additional Team clothing as needed or desired by so notifying the Team. You agree not to distribute or sell Team apparel to any third party.
Compensation. During the Term, you may be eligible to earn Compensation in the form of media bonuses. The criteria and amounts of media bonuses available are set forth in Exhibit A attached to this Agreement.
I too was accepted.
It seems like there is not very much money involved. You get a certain amount of compensation if you are mentioned in any media forms (newspapr, magazines, tv). Other than that, It seems like you just get the running apparral.
I guess along the same lines who applied to team polar? I got the snickers thing but think the polar deal is better and i ind of want to wait to see if i got that.
One time I ate a Snickers Marathon bar and it was disgusting. If they give you any send them to your in-laws or something.
