At 6:17 pace. Is that normal?
On another note, what are the odds he medals? Maybe I am still shaken out of my wits from what happened yesterday but maybe it’s possible?

A 6 mile run isn't atypical warmup/prep for a pro. 6:17 pace is slower than the 6 min pace he does most runs at.
if you followed him on strava, listened to his interview on LR, listened to Gibby's interview on LR, or listened to any GB interview ever, then you'd already know he does all his runs at 6:00 pace, so its actually slower than normal
And no, no shot he medals.
Slower than his average run. A bit further than you'd expect for a shakeout (20-30 minutes is more common) but nothing crazy.
I don’t know. Never count out the most underrated runner in the UsA. Kid is is tough as nails.
Sounds like what guys do in the book Once a Runner
You do realize that 6:17 is a literal jog for him, right? It's easier for him to run at 6:00 than it is for you to run at 10:00. Who makes these threads?
Not happening the Olympic cycle.
He's still shooting Blanks
I would presume he did a 10 minute shake-out jog
paused watch
let an hour pass for chilling and dynamic warmup
Resumed watch for 30 minute jog and add another 2-3 minutes for strides/drills.
There is your 6 miles before the race at 6:17 pace.
Yeah just checked, the run took 40 min but in total there 2 hrs and 31 minutes of elapsed time for what it’s worth
I didn't know anyone who'd shakeout pre-race for more than 10 minutes (a few hours before). And these were 1:46 / 3:37 type of runners. 20-30 seems too long the day of arace.
Looks like he did 5k in lane 1 while gradually speeding up to 5:45 pace, stopped his watch, then came back later and jogged 5k in lane 8.
It’s warmup and cooldown. Gibby’s kids warmup and cooldown 3miles each
I don’t think anyone is realizing what is happening here with Graham.
it’s his warm up and cool down in one activity
A 38-minute warmup for a 5k is atypically long. It's not crazy, but I think it's fair to call it atypical.
Ok. Now I feel like an idiot.
Also, in the interview right after his race he immediately talked about Parker Wolfe and how they agreed whoever represented the USA would make the finals. This is the classiest kid in the ncaa and is the future of the USA in distance. We are going n good hands.
A 6 mile run is absolutely atypical for a pro warm up. You don’t know what you’re talking about. This was his warm up and cool down.
so he did a warm up AND a cool down BEFORE racing?
