I'm trying to draw out the logical implications of what we saw today, something I think everyone would agree was surprising and shocking.
Not only did Cole Hocker win, he won in 3:27 mid while kicking at the end of a championship race.
Does this mean, in a perfectly rabbitted race, he could run 3:26 low or better?
If yes, how did Cole Hocker get so good even though he had no history of fast races before this?
If no, where does the logic break down? Why would someone who can run 3:27 mid while kicking in a championship race not be able to improve on it by a little over a second in a perfectly rabbited race?
