I would argue this is more impressive than Sydney's Rio season.

In theory he could go as fast as 43 low

4x400 splits are usually around 0.5-1 second faster than the open

Since he'll likely walk away with 1 or 2 medals too, for sure.

He split 44.3 in April in 55 degrees and rainy in a prelim. Certainly splitting 43 under the lights

I could see him going 44.0 this year but no faster

Whats impressive is that 300m split. Would be a world u18 best by a wide, wide margin if there was official timing on it (and obviously a US hs record as well)

What is impressive is that a 16 year old ran 44.2.

He might have a claim to run the final in Paris..... Splitting 43 low - 42 high seems realistic and would do it.

He had the perfect foil with Deadmon running near PR to his outside. Wet track and still improving....sub 44 mission is going down this season.

Will be hilarious to see whatever justification the powers that be come up with to keep this from being a high school national record like they did with Mary Cain
