Hey everyone. Need your input. I’m a runner.
Yesterday my coach made me do 10 x 400m. Today was an aerobic 7 mile run. He gave me a route and told me there is a crazy steep 100m hill halfway. He told me, “I want you to run as hard as you can up that hill. Then jog for 45 seconds, and then run as hard as you can down that hill. Do that 4 times. Then finish your run”.
I did it and nearly died on the downhill part as my legs could barely keep up.
I asked him why he was doing this to me. He said, “I want your legs to be as strong as a horse. When your racing and things get hard, I’ll scream ‘HORSE’ from the sideline and you’ll remember the hard hills you ran to get strong.”
I’m really confused by this guy. Why did he make run so hard up and down such a steep hill when I’m tired from yesterday?
